Junior High Students to Participate in Special Programs Before Break
The National Junior Honor Society will conduct their annual winter induction ceremony to begin tomorrow morning’s activities. Following a short break, students will compete in the Geography Bee. Dr. Todd Rappold, Miami East Superintendent, will ask participants questions that test their knowledge of world geography. The annual Spelling Bee will follow in the gym. After lunch, the J.H. Honor Choir will perform.
Junior High Students and Staff Show Holiday Spirit
A thank-you goes to all students, parents, and staff who donated so generously to the canned food drive sponsored by the National Junior Honor Society. Also, thirty gifts were given for the Angel Tree project led by Mrs. Finkes, Mrs. Shaw, and the members of the Chain Links team. Special thanks go to Mrs. Stevens and Honor Society members as a total of 1,202 canned food items were collected, counted, and donated to local church food pantries in the Miami East district.
Junior High Parent-Teacher Conferences Planned For Second Semester
The second semester parent-teacher conference dates have been set. A few days after the second nine weeks concludes, “Operation Grade Card” will be held on Wednesday, January 14th from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. The final parent conference night will be held on March 24th after the third grading period ends. All parents are encouraged to pick up grade cards for their children and meet with teachers. Appointments are not necessary. Hope to see you there!

The Piqua YMCA’s Teen Leaders Club is sponsoring a toilet paper drive for the Miami County Family Abuse Shelter until December 10th. Bring in any kind of toilet paper and drop it off in the office. With every roll you donate you are helping a family in need. Thank you.

Community Service Opportunity: Lostcreek United Church of Christ could use help with cooking, wrapping and boxing their homemade caramels. They will be cooking on Mondays from 3:00 – 6:00, and they will be wrapping and boxing on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. until December 15th. Reminder to students and staff: Pride-in-Me is collecting hats, scarves, gloves and/or socks for Miami County Children’s Services. Pick up an ornament off the tree in the office and put your donation in a plastic bag. Return it to the tree in the front office by December 15th.
