  • Alumni Notice 2020

    The Miami East Alumni Banquet for May 9, 2020 has been cancelled.  Donations for scholarships are greatly appreciated as we plan to award scholarships as funds allow to applicants from the Class of 2020.  We encourage senior class members to apply.  Please call Janet Taylor or Judy Gross for any questions.  Phone numbers are listed in the March newsletter.

    Out of an abundance of caution to ensure that we are doing everything we can do to keep our students safe and healthy the state of Ohio has mandated that the Miami East Local School be closed March 17th through April 3rd

    • While we are off students will be asked to complete Edays 3-13
    • Students will be asked to return completed Eday materials when they return
    • Teachers will continue to communicate with families throughout this process
    • Eday materials are posted unless other instructions have been given by the classroom teacher
    • An Eday schedule has also been placed on the Elementary, Junior High, and High School Webpages
    • All scheduled activities on campus have been cancelled or postponed while we are out (An event schedule has been placed on the District Website)
    • Athletics: At this time all athletic practices and contests are postponed.
    • Lunch will be provided while we are out

    OHSAA All Sports

    • A MANDATORY no-contact period is in effect for all school-sponsored sports March 17-April 5, 2020. Additionally, there will be a mandatory shut down of facilities used for the purpose of conducting athletics activities from March 17-April 5, 2020.

    Congratulation to the Miami East Wrestling Team for finishing 7th at Districts! Cooper and Max Shore were District Champions. David Davis finished 3rd. Those 3 have earned a trip to the State Tournament. Dustin Winner finished 5th and is a State Alternate. Great Job Vikings!

    The Miami East Performing Arts is proud to present The Music Man on Thursday, March 26th, Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th. Tickets to this year’s performance are for sale in the front office: Tickets are $10.00 for reserved seats (all ages). General admission tickets (1st come, 1st served seating) is $8.00 for grades 6-adult, $5.00 for grades 1-5, and kindergarten and under is free with paying adult general admission ticket. The show starts at 7:00 pm; doors open at 6:30 pm.

    Attention seniors - Another community service opportunity is now available.  We need student ushers to work The Music Man performances.  We also need volunteers to help set up the auditeria after school on Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th.  A sign-up sheet is available in the front office.  See Mrs. Hurst if you have any questions. 

    Do you want to ride to Prom with your best friends in style? Then buy a Prom with Purpose raffle ticket for the chance to win a Luxury Limo Bus for prom night! Runner-up prizes include $250 visa gift card and other various gift cards. Proceeds will benefit the First Place Food Pantry in Troy.  Tickets are $10 and are on sale in Mrs. Sroufe’s room before school, after school, and during meeting period ONLY.     Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here to deliver your graduation orders on WEDNESDAY before school in the cafeteria. Your order must be paid in full before it can be delivered. Jostens will only accept cash or money order on delivery day. No checks will be accepted.

    Attention students: Jostens will be here to repair/clean your class rings on WEDNESDAY before school in the cafeteria. Still want to order a ring or other jewelry? It’s not too late. Bring a $75.00 deposit and your order form. See the representative for assistance. Extra packets are available in the office.

    Attention all high school students: If you are interested in ordering a Letter Jacket, please come see Josten’s before school on WEDNESDAY.

    Applications are now available for the 2020 Troy Strawberry Festival Queen’s Pageant. The pageant is open to girls in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 who reside in Miami County. Anyone interested may pick up information in the front office. $1200 in prize money will be awarded to the Queen, $800 to the first runner up, and $600 to the second runner up. ALL applications must be postmarked on or before Friday, March 20, 2020.

    Substitute Custodian
    Have you ever thought about being a substitute custodian? We are currently looking for substitute custodians that can be available on an as needed basis. If interested in becoming a custodian please send an email to Dr. Rappold or call at 937-335-7505

    Student Athletic Passes
    Hey students and @bluecrewmehs: You can purchase punch passes good for 10 admissions to any home HS or JH sporting event for just $20.  Passes will go on sale Aug. 7 in the athletic office at MEHS


    The Miami East School District will periodically utilize the One Call Now system to relay information to parents.  The alerts will be sent to your home phone number. 

    If you would like to switch your home phone number to a cell number instead…simply contact Dr. Rappold with that change at

    Even if you updated your phone number last year, please contact Dr. Rappold with any phone number you want listed other than your home number this year.  This update must be completed every year.  Simply contact Dr. Rappold with that change and the name of your son/daughter at

    Athletic Passes.  Viking fans may purchase a limited season pass.  These punch passes are only good for 10 admissions, but those can be any home sporting event.  Punch passes may be purchased for students or adults, high school or junior high events.  The price for an adult pass for high school games is $54, while a student pass for high school games is $20.  The cost of an adult pass for junior high games will be $36, while a student pass for junior high games will be $20.

    Progress Book.  For the 2019-2020 school year the Miami East School District will once again utilize Progress Book to updates students and parents regarding grades. Progress Book is a district-wide, web-based solution for K-12 schools. Progress Book enables parents and students to see student progress and see grades online. It can be accessed 24/7 from any internet web-browser.  Please utilize Progress Book to stay updated on your son/daughter’s grades.
