  • Thanks Thanksgiving Holiday.  There will be NO SCHOOL at Miami East on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 27-29 in honor of the Thanksgiving Holiday.  School will resume on Monday, December 2nd.

    32nd Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner

    Miami East Local Schools will hold its 32nd Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner, Monday, December 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Miami East High School Cafeteria.  Please park in the back of the building and enter through the back door.  To be eligible to attend, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in the Miami East School District.

    For reservations, please call 335-7070, extension 3001, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The deadline for reservations is November 29, 2019.


    The FFA will be collecting Cans for a Cause to donate to the Fletcher Food Pantry. They will be collecting today through Tuesday, November 26th. All donations need to be taken to the Ag Room (room 211) before school, after school, or during meeting period. Canned fruit is especially needed at this time. Seniors you have the opportunity to earn 1 hour of community service for every 10 cans donated up to a maximum of 5 hours. Expired or opened cans will not be accepted.


    Attention freshman: The Jostens representative will be here to deliver your class ring on Tuesday, November 26th before school in the cafeteria. Any payments need to be cash or money order at the school. No checks will be accepted. Still want to order a class ring? Bring a $75.00 deposit and order form. Extra packets are available in the front office.


    Attention seniors, our next kindergarten reading buddy activity will be next Tuesday. We will be leaving immediately after 1st period.


    Attention students interested in Engineering and Robotics – Honda is holding an informational session at Edison on December 5th. See Mr. Rutledge for more information.


    Attention Seniors: A couple more community service opportunities are available. Fletcher Lions Club will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on December 6th and they need help.  Another opportunity for community service hours is the Overfield Tavern’s Yuletide dinner on December 7th and 8th. Interested in helping or have any questions? See Mr. Rutledge or Mrs. Hall.

    The following 9 Miami East Viking Football players were honored by being selected for the 2019 All-Cross County Conference Football Team: Brad Wittenmyer -1st team defensive back, Tyler Kirby – 1st team punter, Austin Francis – 1st team linebacker and 1st team running back, Hunter Gross- 1st team offensive line, Nick LeValley – 2nd team running back, Jayden Skeebey-2nd team defensive line, Aaron Lawrence – special mention, Dylan Williams – special mention, and Daniel McCourt – special mention. Congratulation Vikings!

    Girls on the Run are collecting new baby blankets for area hospitals. If you would like to donate a new baby blanket please bring it to Mrs. Hall in the office before this Friday.


    Attention athletes interested in indoor track: On Monday, November 18th there will be a meeting during our meeting period in the lecture hall. If interested please plan to attend.


    Student Athletic Passes
    Hey students and @bluecrewmehs: You can purchase punch passes good for 10 admissions to any home HS or JH sporting event for just $20.  Passes will go on sale Aug. 7 in the athletic office at MEHS

    The Miami East School District will periodically utilize the One Call Now system to relay information to parents.  The alerts will be sent to your home phone number. 

    If you would like to switch your home phone number to a cell number instead…simply contact Dr. Rappold with that change at trappold@miamieast.k12.oh.us

    Even if you updated your phone number last year, please contact Dr. Rappold with any phone number you want listed other than your home number this year.  This update must be completed every year.  Simply contact Dr. Rappold with that change and the name of your son/daughter at trappold@miamieast.k12.oh.us


    Athletic Passes.  Viking fans may purchase a limited season pass.  These punch passes are only good for 10 admissions, but those can be any home sporting event.  Punch passes may be purchased for students or adults, high school or junior high events.  The price for an adult pass for high school games is $54, while a student pass for high school games is $20.  The cost of an adult pass for junior high games will be $36, while a student pass for junior high games will be $20.

    Progress Book.  For the 2019-2020 school year the Miami East School District will once again utilize Progress Book to updates students and parents regarding grades. Progress Book is a district-wide, web-based solution for K-12 schools. Progress Book enables parents and students to see student progress and see grades online. It can be accessed 24/7 from any internet web-browser.  Please utilize Progress Book to stay updated on your son/daughter’s grades.
