    Dear Parents / Guardians,

Hello, my name is Mrs. Doedee Trostel-Patton and I am a 22nd year special education teacher.  This is my fourteenth year at the Miami East Junior High School.  I have also taught at Graham High School, Troy Jr. High and Piqua Jr. High.  My husband Chuck and I have 4 children, two boys and two girls.  Our oldest son is graduated and working on being a successful adult.  Our other son is in his final year of elementary.  Our daughters are in the 8th and 10th grades this year.    I enjoy being an active member in my church, learning new things, coaching soccer, reading, and being a mom.

Teaching is very important to me.  I truly love to help my students any way I can.  My mission is to teach students the skills they need to become successful independent citizens.  With each interaction, I will be positive, respectful, and understanding.  I believe in teaching responsibility and I will hold my students accountable for their choices.

I would really appreciate it if we could work closely together in making sure your student is successful this year.  Your involvement and support are very important to me.  Please stress to your student that he / she does need to ask for help when he / she doesn’t understand something.  He /she also needs to keep up with the assigned work and make sure to have it done by the due date.  He / she also must be organized .  I will help your student get organized and stay organized as long as they are willing to help too.   I am looking forward to working with you and your young adult this year.

Please feel free to call / text me if you have any questions or suggestions about your child.

If I am unavailable at the time, please leave a message and I will return your call as quickly as possible.

    Thank you!

    MRS. TP
