High School Choir

  • High School Choir 
    About The Course:  Students will learn how to sing in a choral classroom setting.  The director will cover essential skills needed to be a Superior choir.  These skills are :sight-reading, tall vowels, diction, breath support and posture.  The director will model performance expectations for students.  Music selected will be determined by the director.  The class will learn to work in a teamwork setting singing in four or more parts.  Grades will be determined based on class participation, attitude, teamwork, understanding of subject and attendance at concerts and contests.  It is a student's and parent's job to notify teachers, coaches and employers of any future conflicts.  Students can have the opportunity to develope and compete as soloist or members of small ensembles.

    December 12, Glee Group Lion’s Club Christmas Party 6:30pm @ AB Graham Center


    December 14, Choir Concert grades  6-12 @ 7pm K-8 bldg meeting at 6:30pm


    January 28 & 29 District XI Honor Choir @ Troy HS Audition only 


    February 11, High School Solo and Ensemble @ Milton Union HS


    March 3 OMEA District Large Group Choir Contest @ Bellefontaine


    March 25, Jr. High Solo and Ensemble Contest @Miami East Jr. High 


    April 28 & 29, O.M.E.A.  S.C. Region High State Choir Contest @ Gahanna HS


    May 6 @ Troy HS @ Coy Middle School in Beaver Creek Jr. High Honor Choir Large Group Choir Contest. Dates are TBA due to State Testing Dates and Eighth Grade

    Smokey Mountain Trip.


    May 3, Spring Choir Concert grades 6-12 @ 7pm K-8 bldg meeting at 6:30pm


    May 26, High School Graduation Hobart Arena meet @ 7pm perform at 7:30pm
