Welcome to Tutoring!

 

My name is Kristy Hurst.  I am excited to begin my 19th year with Miami East High School!  I have worked as an Intervention Specialist for 21 years - my first year with fifth graders and then I quickly moved on to the high school level and haven't looked back!

 

I attended Ohio University for both my undergraduate and my first graduate degrees.  I finished my second masters in school administration from the University of Dayton not long after my youngest was born. When the time is right, I hope to move into a leadership position within special education. 

 

I am the current Muse Machine advisor, Senior Class advisor, and special education department chair.  This year, I will continue as our musical director as well. 

 

Outside of teaching, I love to cook, read, walk my dogs, go camping and just generally be outside.  College football, musical theatre, dance and March Madness are some of my other favorites!

 

I am very much looking forward to getting to know each of you as we progress through this year!
