Welcome Back!!! I hope your summer was filled with fun and excitement.
I am beginning my 15th year teaching 5th grade science, math and/or social studies here at Miami East.  Prior to Miami East, I spent three years teaching 4th grade math in Dayton, and two years in special education, one year in Champaign County and one year in Milton-Union.
After graduating from Miami East High School a few years back, I continued my learning endeavors at Urbana University.  I graduated from Urbana University in 1997 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education.  I am currently working on my Masters Degree at the University of Dayton in Educational Leadership.  I recently went through a class to become a registered weather spotter with the National Weather Service.
When I am not in the classroom, I can usually be found coaching on a field or court somewhere.  I have coached Varsity football at Miami East since 2004.  I have also spent time coaching basketball and baseball.  Besides spending time on the field coaching, I also spend part of my spring and summer umpiring baseball.  I also teach an umpiring class to new umpires in the winter.
If there is a moment of free time, it is usually spent with my family.  My wife Mandy (also a Miami East grad) and I have three children, Scot, Tyler, and Kyleigh.  We currently live in Milton-Union school district.  However, all three of our kids graduated from Miami East.  Scot graduated from Miami East in 2016, graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with his bachelors degree in 2020 and graduated from Arkansas State with his Masters in 2022.. Tyler graduated from Miami East in 2021 and is attending Edison State College.  Kyleigh graduated from Miami East in 2022 and is attending Capital Univeristy.
