    volunteer opportunities
     
    PTO has many volunteer opportunities for parents of the students at Miami East.  It takes a lot of hands to accomplish the many events and tasks we as an organization do for the benefit of our children.  It is also a great way to meet other parents, build relationships and have a lot of fun.  Check out the list below for different ways you can join in.
     
     
    Workroom Helper – Perform clerical tasks for teachers such as making copies and laminating.
    Muffins for Moms – Help serve or donate food at a breakfast for moms and students.  Usually in the fall.
    Donuts for Dads – Help serve or donate food at a breakfast for dads and students.  Usually in the fall.
    Book Fairs – Help assist the students in picking out and buying books.  Usually in the Spring and Fall.
    Christmas Open House – Help needed in many different areas.
    Holiday Staff Luncheon – Help provide a lunch for the staff shortly before the holiday break.
    Movie Nights – Help with refreshments and host a movie in the auditeria. 
    Spring Open House  - Help needed in different areas.
    Teacher Appreciation Week – Luncheon or other ways to show teachers our appreciation.  Usually in May.
    Field Day – End of the year outside event for grades 3, 4 and 5.
    Fun Day – End of the year outside event for grades K, 1 and 2.
    Fundraisers – Help plan and organize fundraisers, see list on this website.
    Bus Safety - Help bus drivers teach bus safety to the children towards the beginning of the school year.
