• What is a School Counselor?

    A school counselor is a master-degreed professional who is in the school to provide support to students, staff, parents, and the community. 

    Services provided by the School Counselor:

    • Short-term individual counseling: School counselors offer short-term individual counseling for students who are struggling with any difficulty that prevents them from doing their best at school.  These difficulties can include problems adjusting to a new school year, family changes, grief/loss, and conflicts with others.
    • Classroom lessons
    • Small group counseling
    • State Testing Coordination
