There
were no public comments heard.
GOOD NEWS
RECOGNITION:
- Congratulations
to the HS Women's Choir for earning a
the listed
groups in the Fall OMEA Educators Journal. Mr. Lozano gave Board members
an update on the district’s vocal
program. The Women’s Choir performed for
the Board of Education.
Mr. Lozano described how the Miami East Women’s Choir competed at the
- Mrs.
House of Representatives regarding
value-added data.
In mid-April,
Mrs. Hartley was asked to be one of only four individuals across the
entire
country to testify to the United States House of Representatives. This
testimony
was part of the United States House of Representatives ongoing
reauthorization
of the No Child Left Behind Act.
Mrs.
Hartley described how the
data
and how the staff and students have benefited from this daily this data
analysis.
Board

from the District’s Staff Development Committee. The Staff Development
Committee
is part of the district’s five-year strategic plan. Mr. Smith described the
offerings the district’s staff has participated in this year.

Dr. Rappold recognized the success of this year’s spring athletic
teams. The varsity
softball and
girls’ track teams captured league titles this year. In
addition, for the third
consecutive year, the Vikings have been able
to bring home the All Sport trophy.
