    Career Connections

The goal of Career Connections is to better assist those Miami East senior students on course to graduate but that are not planning on attending college or enlisting in the military and assist them in gaining full-time employment.

This goal can be met by assisting our students and putting them in a position to be employed when they graduate from Miami East High School. The district welcomes  Mrs. Julie Millhouse as the Career Connections Coordinator for this school year. Mrs. Millhouse will work closely with Mr. Rose’s Career Exploration class three days a week and will also work with local employers, apprenticeship programs, and adult education facilities to provide resources that will assist those students as they prepare to enter the workforce. The students taking part in the Career Exploration class will be working on career path research, preparing resumes and cover letters, take part in a minimum of one career exploration job visit while also having the opportunity to host local industry and business owners in the classroom during guest speaker events. These students will also follow a curriculum that focuses on employable skills and receiving certificates showing successful completion.

If you or someone you know is interested in sharing your career success story we invite you to contact Mrs. Millhouse to get more information on how to be a part of our guest speaker events or job shadow day.
