Welcome to 7th grade Language Arts!

Hello 7th Grade Students and Families!

Hello Viking families! My name is Jodi Metzger and I am beyond thrilled to be back at Miami East Junior High School after 3 years in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to my Tucson teaching adventure - stories of which will surely find their way to you, I have taught in Atlanta, and Delaware, Ohio. However, the most amazing part of my career has been the 13 years here at Miami East.

I grew up as a farm kid in Delaware County before being the first in my family to go college at The Ohio State University. I also have my Master’s Degree from Wright State University and have achieved National Board Certification. I have  been very fortunate to have been recognized as Scottsdale, Arizona teacher of the year and a Disney American Teacher nominee.

I have been married to my husband, Richard, for 30 years. We live in Troy. He is an engineer at Wright Patterson. Our son graduated from Ohio State and is finishing his Master’s Degree in Material Science Engineering at Wright State. He also works at the Air Force Research Lab. We have two, adorable kittens, Herbie and Eleanor.

In my spare time, I love to bike-ride the Miami County Bike Trails, catch-up on reading all the cool books my students recommend to me, and watch the Buckeyes and Reds.

Again, I am very excited to be working with you and your amazing kids. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me at jmetzger@miamieast.k12.oh.us. I am currently getting my website and Google Classroom set up in order to help facilitate more detailed communication.
