School Bus Safety Tips and Laws for Motorists

Never pass a school bus with flashing lights
In the state of Ohio, you must stop when driving from either direction (does not apply to multiple-lane or divided highways) until the children are safely off the street and the school bus lights stop flashing.  The yellow flashing lights signal you to slow down and prepare to make a complete stop. When the red light flashes, your vehicle must be fully stopped, even if the "stop sign" arm is not extended on the side of the bus.

meefMiami East Education Foundation…. THANK YOU

On behalf of the Miami East Education Foundation, please accept our heartfelt THANK YOU for your generous contribution and support of VikingFest 2022, benefiting the Miami East Education Foundation.

You helped create a fun-filled community event where Miami East family and friends gathered to appreciate one another, our Miami East students and their many talents.

The event was successful in raising funds for the Miami East Education Foundation.  The Foundation provides school personnel educational grants (for student enrichment activities) and student scholarships.  The greatest wealth of a community is in the education of its children.

2022-2023 Student Lunches. For the past two years the United States Department of Agriculture has offered free lunches to students.  We have been informed that this program will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year.

    Keep in Touch

Just a reminder, this cannot be stressed enough.  If anyone in your household is being tested...everyone needs to stay home until you receive the results.  If in doubt… please contact Dr. Rappold before sending your son/daughter to school.  It takes everyone’s teamwork to ensure everyone is safe.

    Lunch

Free lunches offered to all students Extended

Miami East Local is excited to continue offering all its students a free Type A lunch extending thru May 27th.  All students in grade K-12 have the opportunity to receive free lunch each school day thru May 27, 2022.

All students are eligible to receive a free tray lunch. Additional items, such as a la carte selections, extra meals, or extra milks will have to be paid for by the student.

This opportunity continues the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Ohio Department of Education’s dedication to meeting the needs of the whole child during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Final Forms is Open and ready for parents to start as of August 1st.  The Final Forms student registration process is for all students who attended during the 2020-2021 school year and new incoming students.  Incoming Kindergarten students who had already completed their Final Forms during the spring screening do not have to register again.  Go to the Front page of the Miami East Website to begin.

C Just a reminder, this cannot be stressed enough.  Repeat after me...if anyone in your household is being tested...everyone needs to stay home until you receive the results.  If in doubt… please contact Dr. Rappold before sending your son/daughter to school.  It takes everyone’s teamwork to ensure everyone is safe.
