Senior Year “TO DO” SHEET for 2021 – 2022

If you are a Senior this year below are important dates and events to keep in mind for this coming school year.

BE “IN LINE” TO GRADUATE

  • Will you have all graduation requirements met?
  • Do you have make up work to do? 

PREPARE FOR APPLYING TO COLLEGE

  • Have you taken the ACT &/or SAT? (Twice? Once with Writing?)
  • When registering for the SAT/ACT have the scores sent DIRECTLY to the colleges you are interested in applying to
  • Have you researched the colleges you are interested in applying to?
  • Seniors are allowed three college visit days.
  • Seniors can get career exploration days.
  • Have you thought about what your focus will be in college.
  • Have you visited the colleges you are interested in applying to?

APPLY TO COLLEGE…

  • Applications should be sent by November.
  • If you need a letter of recommendation from Mr. Rutledge give him a week or two notice.
  • If you need a letter of recommendation from a teacher or other adult give them a week or two notice.
  • Keep copies of all your college correspondence – applications, letters, forms, etc.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID…

  • Check with parents’ employers, church, social and professional organizations for scholarship opportunities.
  • Check with your employer (if you work), your coach (if you play a sport), church, organizations for scholarship opportunities.
  • Listen to school announcements.
  • Check scholarship files in the Guidance Office.
  • In October, get a FAFSA pin number on line.

Just a reminder....Troy Foundation Scholarships are due in Jan 2022
The Miami East Common App in April 2022
CC+ students will need to request transcripts from their college /university at end of year

Complete the FAFSA application in October 2021
