Updated Guidelines

MEHS students and family members,

For safety and supervision purposes, the following guidelines will be implements for MEHS students beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

        MEHS students attending MVCTC (Riding the bus from MEHS to MVCTC):

o   Students attending MVCTC may NOT be dropped off prior to 6:30am       

§  Students are asked to wait in the lobby or MEHS cafeteria

o   Students attending MVCTC and driving to MEHS may NOT arrive prior to 6:50am

·         MEHS students arriving to campus in the morning:

o   Students may NOT be dropped off at MEHS prior to 6:40am

§  Students must enter MEHS immediately upon being dropped off

o   Students driving to campus must exit their vehicle immediately upon parking on campus and enter MEHS

o   MEHS students dropping off MVCTC students (a sibling or a friend) for the MVCTC bus must exit their vehicle immediately upon parking and enter MEHS upon arrival to campus

·         Exceptions to the arrival times:

o   Students serving morning detention at 6:40am

o   Students that have made prior arrangements to meet with a MEHS staff member

o   Special events scheduled by the MEHS administration

 

It is a privilege to be allowed to drive to school.  Students that drive to school must follow the rules and regulations for driving and operate the vehicle in an appropriate and safe manner.  Students who do not follow rules and/or drive in an inappropriate/unsafe manner can be referred to the office for disciplinary action.  The administration reserves the right to revoke driving privileges to and from the Miami East campus.

Search of a student and his/her possessions, including vehicles, may be conducted at any time the student is under the jurisdiction of the Board of Education by a District Administrator or his/her designee, if there is a reasonable suspicion that the student is in violation of law or school rules.  A search may be conducted to protect the safety of others.  All searches may be conducted with or without a student’s consent.
