The Miami East Local School District strives for excellence in all areas. Located in Casstown, Ohio, Miami East serves nearly 1,300 students in grades K–12 across approximately 120 square miles in the eastern portion of Miami County.

Miami East is a proud, close-knit school community with a rich tradition of excellence. Our district is strengthened by the partnership of our students, staff, families, alumni, and community, all working together to provide outstanding opportunities for students to learn, grow, achieve, and prepare for their futures.

Miami East has earned a 5-Star Overall Rating on the Ohio School Report Card for four consecutive years — 2022–2023, 2023–2024, 2024–2025, and 2025–2026. This continued achievement reflects the dedication of our students and staff and the strong support of our families and community.

Miami East has a strong tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, agriculture, music, the arts, and extracurricular activities.

We believe education extends well beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to discover their strengths, pursue their interests, develop leadership skills, serve others, and become responsible and engaged members of their communities.

From academic and career opportunities to athletics, FFA, performing arts, music, clubs, service organizations, and other extracurricular activities, Miami East provides students with opportunities to find their place and pursue their passions.

The Miami East Local School District encompasses approximately 120 square miles in the eastern portion of Miami County, Ohio. Our district is primarily rural and includes small towns, villages, townships, farmland, and residential areas that together create the close-knit community that defines Miami East.

The district serves families throughout several communities, including:

• Casstown — home to the main Miami East Local Schools campus

• Fletcher

• Conover

• Lost Creek Township

• Elizabeth Township

• Staunton Township

• Brown Township

• Areas historically associated with Miami Central

Because school district boundaries do not always align with postal mailing addresses, some families within the Miami East Local School District may have Troy or Piqua mailing addresses while residing within Miami East's attendance boundaries. Students living in those areas attend Miami East Local Schools.

Although our district covers a large geographic area, our individual communities are united by a shared school system and a strong sense of Viking Pride.

Our schools serve as an important gathering place for the communities we represent. Families, alumni, local businesses, community organizations, booster groups, and residents play an active role in supporting our students and schools.

Student Life & Opportunities

At Miami East, education extends far beyond the classroom.

Students may participate in a variety of activities, including performing arts, Muse Machine, National Honor Society, Art Club, Environmental Club, Student Council, Yearbook, Key Club, FFA, academic teams, athletics, music, and many other organizations and activities.

Our students and programs regularly earn recognition at the local, regional, and state levels. Miami East's highly regarded FFA program, accomplished music and performing arts programs, competitive athletic teams, and strong academic programs demonstrate the many ways our students pursue excellence.

Whether competing on the field, performing on stage, serving their community, developing leadership skills, or excelling in the classroom, Miami East students are encouraged to challenge themselves, pursue their passions, and take pride in being a Viking.
