Fundraising
Miami East Local Schools active and recent fundraising initiatives support student groups, staff grants, and community programs.
Ongoing and Recent Fundraisers
ClothesBin Partnership: Miami East has partnered with ClothesBin to recycle outgrown or unused clothing and shoes. Families can drop off items to support school programs.
Senior Class Activities: Senior parents coordinate volunteer shifts at local venues like the Miami County Fair Dairy Bar to raise funds for senior events and activities.
Athletic & Student Group Sales: Individual groups—such as the cheerleaders and athletic teams—frequently host game-day concession or sweet-treat fundraisers (like Nothing Bundt Cakes booths during home football games).
Miami East Education Foundation (MEEF)
Overview: Established in 2003 as a component fund of The Troy Foundation, MEEF provides grants for teacher projects, student enrichment, and scholarships.
Funding Sources: Grants are financed through community events like VikingFest and local "Dine to Donate" restaurant nights.
Recent Impact: MEEF recently funded staff grants for fourth and fifth-grade reading/writing tools, middle school pocketlab sensors, and elementary standing desks. Memorial donations (such as those honoring former teacher Barbara Plunkett) also directly support the music department
