Miami East Local Schools uses its social media pages to share school news, celebrate students and staff, announce events, and keep our Viking community connected. These pages are managed by the district’s Communications Coordinator and are intended for students, families, staff and community members of all ages.

We welcome questions and constructive conversation about our schools. When commenting, please use good judgment, treat others with respect and remember that students and families may read what you post. Disagreement and criticism are welcome when they follow these standards.

Miami East moderates comments on its official social media pages. Comments may be removed if they:

• Are unrelated to the post or repeatedly disrupt the discussion

• Contain threats, targeted harassment, bullying or sexually explicit material

• Encourage violence, criminal activity or truancy

• Reveal a student’s private information or other information that could put someone’s safety at risk

• Contain spam, repeated promotional messages or unrelated advertising

• Violate applicable law or the platform’s rules

Comments will be reviewed under these standards regardless of whether they praise or criticize the district. Repeated or serious violations may result in restrictions on commenting, consistent with applicable law.

Please do not use social media comments to share a student concern or private information. Contact the appropriate school or district office directly so staff can respond through the proper channel.
