The Board of Education of the Miami East Local School District (the “Board” or the “District”) does not discriminate on the basis of sex, including sexual orientation or gender identity, in its education programs or activities. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulations require the District not to discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities, including admission and employment. The Board is committed to maintaining an education and work environment free from sex discrimination, including sexual harassment.

The Board prohibits sexual harassment in its education programs and activities. When the District has actual knowledge of sexual harassment in an education program or activity against a person in the United States, it will respond promptly in a manner that is not deliberately indifferent.

The Board is committed to addressing sexual harassment and will take appropriate action when an individual is found responsible for violating this policy. Employees, students, third-party vendors and contractors, guests, and other members of the District community who engage in sexual harassment may be subject to disciplinary action under the District’s applicable policies. The District will provide ongoing remedies, as reasonably necessary, to restore or preserve access to its education programs and activities for those who have experienced sexual harassment.
