Mr. Mike Ullery has been a professional photographer for nearly three decades. Known as the voice of the Vikings during his years with the Piqua Daily Call, Troy Daily News, and Miami Valley Today, he captured the spirit of Miami East through athletics, music programs, Homecoming, Alumni news, FFA, and countless special events. Even today, he continues to share his talents with the Miami East community.
His gift for storytelling through photography has earned him statewide and national recognition. He was named Best Photographer in Ohio five times and runner-up six times by the Ohio Associated Press. His award-winning images-including Softball Collision, Soccer, Track (2008), and Skydancers (2019)-earned honors from the Associated Press Society of Ohio. In 2024, he was honored with the OSBA Media Honor Roll Award for more than 30 years of service as a dedicated media partner. He has also been recognized by the United States Army, the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce, and Piqua City Schools.
Through his lens, Mr. Ullery has preserved countless cherished memories for Miami East students, families, and alumni. His work continues to reflect the pride, tradition, and excellence of our school community.
