Miami East High School added another chapter to its proud athletic tradition as the Vikings' 4x400-meter relay team captured the 2026 OHSAA State Championship, earning the title of the fastest relay team in Ohio.
The championship quartet of Gunner Weldy, Kaden Bodey, Garrett Fine, and Ryan Neff delivered a remarkable performance on the state's biggest stage, combining speed, determination, and teamwork to bring home the gold medal. Their accomplishment capped off an outstanding season and solidified their place in Miami East track and field history.
Joining the athletes in celebrating the victory was Coach Karnehm, whose leadership and dedication helped guide the relay team throughout the season. The championship reflects countless hours of training, preparation, and commitment by both the athletes and coaching staff.
